Tell us about your company.
Empowered IT Solutions is a family-owned Managed IT and Cybersecurity company based right here in Poway. With almost 20 years of experience and 10 as Empowered IT, we’ve been helping small businesses, nonprofits, and soloprenuers protect their technology, stay compliant, and operate with confidence. Our mission is simple: to empower businesses through secure, reliable technology and a team that truly cares.
What made you decide to choose this field or industry?
Technology has always been part of our family story. My dad started in IT with a vision to serve small businesses that often get overlooked by larger providers. Over time, my brother and I joined him to grow Empowered IT Solutions into what it is today: a business built on service, trust, and community impact. We wanted to show that tech can be personal and accessible.
What is the most interesting part of your business?
Every day is different! We get to solve problems, strengthen defenses against cyber threats, and help businesses bounce back stronger after challenges. On my end, I love the outreach side, connecting with business owners, sharing cybersecurity education, and helping them see how protection and prevention can truly empower their operations.
What do you wish you knew starting out, or what would you have done differently?
That it’s okay to ask for help and build partnerships early on. When you start out, you often try to do everything yourself. Over time, I’ve learned that collaboration and community (like what we find through the Chamber) are key to growth.
What are you most proud of?
I’m proud that Empowered IT Solutions has grown without losing its heart. We’ve built a strong, certified team, earned our minority business certification, and supported nonprofits both locally and across the border through our volunteer work and computer donation programs. Giving back is part of who we are.
Tell us something we would not know about you.
I co-founded a nonprofit called The Impact MVMT Foundation, which builds homes for families in Mexico and provides scholarships for students at risk of dropping out. What started as a weekend volunteer project has turned into a lifelong mission of service.
What keeps you inspired and motivated?
What keeps me motivated is seeing the real impact of what we do: when a client feels confident about their technology or when our outreach helps a business owner finally understand how to protect what they’ve built.
When and why did you join the Poway Chamber of Commerce?
We joined to connect with other local business owners and be more involved in our Poway community. We believe in supporting the local economy, building meaningful relationships, and learning from other leaders who care about making an impact.
What would you tell someone who is considering joining the Poway Chamber?
Do it! The Chamber opens doors to genuine connections and opportunities you won’t find anywhere else.
What has been your favorite part of being a member of the Poway Chamber of Commerce?
Every event, conversation, and collaboration reminds me how strong our local community is when we work together.
